When you take one of our session based exams, you'll sit at one of our exam centres. ACCA operates over 400 exam centres in more than 170 countries, with the majority of these centres being available during our March, June, September and December exam sessions.
When you make an booking for a session based exam, you are asked to select an exam centre. The majority of these exam centres require no additional centre fees and are available for the four exam sessions taking place in March, June, September and December.
We also run exam centres in areas with low student populations, as we endeavour to provide local access to an exam centre for as many students as possible. These are called special centres and there are two types.
Students are able to book these centres directly from the online booking system. We aim to provide these centres for paper/cbe exams in all four exam sessions, however this is not always possible due to cost, resourcing or other factors. Therefore some of these centres may only be available during the June and December exam sessions.
Should an exam centre not be available locally, students can also request to take paper-based exams at an exam centre other than those listed on the exam booking system.
If you would like to make a request to sit your exam at an “unlisted special centre” you must submit your request and full exam entry details to us, by the early entry closing date, by emailing email@example.com with “Centre not listed” as your subject field. These centres can only be requested for the June and December exam sessions.
It is only possible for us to arrange unlisted special centres if we are satisfied that the same standards of facilities and invigilation that exist at our regular centres will be available. If it is not possible for us to arrange an exam sitting at the location you have requested, you will be offered the opportunity to sit your exams at the nearest exam centre. You will then receive an email confirming your exam entry and any payment instructions that are required from you.
Unlisted special exam centres can be arranged for students with additional requirements, where appropriate.
Students are required to pay additional local invigilation and accommodation to sit at both listed and unlisted special centres. These fees are normally paid directly to the Exam Supervisor in advance of the exam date.
