The P1 Governance, Risk and Ethics and the P3 Business Analysis exams will be replaced by the Strategic Business Leader exam as of the September 2018 exam session. If you failed a P1 or P3 exam in a recent session, please read the following guidance.
Whilst your previous studies for P1 and P3 will help you with some of the technical learning content for Strategic Business Leader, it is not an exam you should rush into. There are some important things to consider before planning your studies or entering the exam.
We strongly recommend you take a face to face or online course of tuition with an Approved Learning Partner
SBL is a different type of exam from what you will have previously taken with ACCA, which requires a different exam technique and demonstration of professional skills. An Approved Learning Partner who specialises in teaching Strategic Business Leader will therefore boost your chances of exam success and we would not recommend taking the exam without this type of support.
Plan ahead and don’t rush into taking the exam
Give yourself time to prepare for success. Familiarise yourself with the exam and use our study support resource finder to discover available resources to you. We recommend starting your planning at least four to five months in advance of sitting the exam. If you have not yet prepared for SBL so we would recommend taking the exam in December 2018 .
Use our SBL study support guide to help plan your studies
Complete the Ethics and Professional Skills module in advance of attempting SBL
Alongside taking a course of tuition, the Ethics and Professional Skills module is a great tool to help you prepare for Strategic Business Leader as it will introduce you to the ethical and professional skills examined in the exam.
