Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, categorised into Scope 1 (direct emissions), Scope 2 (indirect emissions from energy), and Scope 3 (other indirect emissions), are key indicators of an organisation’s environmental footprint. For accounting and finance professionals, mastering the calculation of Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions is vital for ensuring compliance with evolving reporting standards, enhancing corporate transparency, and supporting sustainable financial strategies.

Through delving into various cases and examples, the webinar aims to equip participants with rationale and actionable strategies and methods to identify, collect and calculate carbon emissions data, enabling them to apply the knowledge in real-world reporting scenarios.

The webinar will cover the following:

  • an overview of Scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon emissions and their related reporting requirements
  • strategies for identifying and gathering essential data for carbon emissions reporting
  • methods for calculating carbon emissions across all three scopes

Dhriti Vyshwamithri

Dhriti Vyshwamithri has been working in the financial industry for more than a decade, specializing in energy transition and sustainable finance. Her experiences working with corporates and banks on sustainability topics support different market participants in leveraging ESG, climate change and sustainability to create business value. She studied and worked in Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan and South Korea, building her foundational knowledge and real-world insights about Asia’s sustainable development.

  • The series is under ACCA’s Subsidy CPD Scheme.
