ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) students are getting the benefit of a new exam practice platform for computer-based exams (CBE)
More than 90 platinum and gold approved learning partners (ALPs) and silver learning partners in the UK and hundreds of tutors are using the platform to aid CBE sessions.
The platform’s introduction back in June is allowing time for familiarisation prior to the first Strategic Professional CBE sessions in March 2020.
It is a free resource for students who are also benefiting from Applied Skills CBE specimen and past exams incorporated into the platform from January 2020.
Learning partners are able to:
- Personalise the practice platform with their company logo and colours
- Create their own questions and practice tests just for their students
- Offer marking and feedback services to their students
- Give guidance for all students to self-mark their tests
- Preload ACCA questions and practice tests for all students
Reza Ali, director of professional education at ACCA, underlined the importance of the platform, adding that it will provide vital aid to students embarking on their exam practice.
He said: ‘At ACCA we’re always looking for ways to improve the student and partner experience and enhance exam success. We are delighted to now extend our CBE Practice Platform for students at Applied Skills levels.
‘The platform mirrors the live exams, so students can become familiar with the exam format and functionality before ever sitting a real exam – improving their confidence and progression through the qualification to membership. This will be an invaluable resource for our students, tutors and partners.’
James Patrick, head of professional education, at ACCA, says that the introduction of Applied Skills content on the Practice Platform will become a key part of students’ preparation for their Computer Based Exams.
He said: ‘Since launching to Strategic Professional students in September 2019, the Practice Platform has received excellent feedback from students and Approved Learning Providers.
‘Students value the opportunity to practise exam standard content in the live exam environment, whilst learning providers are appreciate the opportunity to provide an end to end CBE solution as part of their courses; including the creating and assigning their own content, marking and monitoring progress.
‘We’re excited that all Applied Skills students will now have the equivalent, on demand access to exam standard content and that Approved Learning Partners have an increased scope to use the platform to continue to add value to their classes.’
