Government funding for apprenticeship programmes is available through approved training providers. Funding is drawn down from the apprenticeship levy which was introduced by the UK Government in April 2017, with the Welsh Government receiving an allocation from the UK Government. The levy applies to all UK employers who have an annual pay bracket of £3 million or more.
There are also additional funding incentives for small businesses in Wales which you can find out about here.
This funding goes directly to the training provider and, as the employer, you will be required to pay only the salary of your apprentices.
Apprenticeships for new and current employees of all ages are covered subject to the individual meeting eligibility criteria.
You can also access funding for apprentices aged 19 years and over.
