I joined the Panel just over 2 years ago as I was keen to give something back to the ACCA after qualifying in 2001, I was also keen to assist the Panel in initiatives to enhance the profile of the Manchester Network and meet with other ACCA professionals in the area. Since joining the Panel, I have assisted in the transition of the Panel members , become involved with other local organizations such as The IOD, Chartered Tax Institute, and the AAT. It has also enabled me to meet other professionals working in similar Financial Sectors.

Olu Badewa FCCA
I joined the ACCA panel to have an opportunity to contribute towards promoting the body within my workplace, develop my network of contacts and to be more involved in the activities of the body directed at supporting members and prospective members. Being a panel member enables me to connect with other members outside of my sector and provides a good opportunity to network with other professionals. I currently work within the financial service sector as a regulatory reporting Accountant.

I am a Partner with Leonherman, an accountancy practice based in Manchester. We work with owner managed SME’s providing them with accountancy, taxation and advisory services. I have been a qualified accountant with the ACCA since 2002 and the qualification has helped me in my career and opened doors for me. Joining the ACCA Manchester panel is a great opportunity for me to give something back to the organisation and help further my career by developing new contacts and relationships.

Having relocated back to the NW, I originally joined the panel to expand my professional network and as a way of meeting people at CPD events. Since joining I like to feel I can champion ACCA within the workplace for those based outside of the traditional practice environment and encourage others to undertake the ACCA qualification. I currently work within the Utilities sector but also have worked in Defence, Manufacturing and Publishing sectors.
