As an FCCA, I have worked in accounting and audit for public sector bodies and as an academic in further and higher education institutions. I am committed to ensuring students develop technical skills alongside academic qualifications and so I became involved with my local network panel. Since joining the panel I have undertaken a range of advocacy opportunities which have been interesting and challenging. It has been fantastic meeting members at panel events and becoming involved in wider opportunities representing ACCA, such as my work on the development of the T-Level for Accountancy for the Department for Education.

I work for a national housebuilder and I joined the ACCA regional panel because I wanted to meet other members and develop my professional career. Being on the panel has enabled me to learn about different business sectors through networking and sharing knowledge of the industry I work in. It has helped me to promote the ACCA brand and been a forum to raise topics for discussion for the future of the profession.

I am licensed insolvency practitioner and a fellow of the ACCA and have worked in the business rescue, recovery and insolvency sector for over 15 years.  Having been an ACCA member since 2011, I decided to get involved with the panel to provide guidance and advice to local ACCA members and assist in the promotion and enhancement of the ACCA brand across the region.  I have only very recently been appointed onto the panel.

I am an Associate Director at Duncan & Toplis specialising in audit and assurance for over 10 years. I also lead our data analytics team which involves reviewing how we can use technology in audit to enhance quality. I joined the ACCA NDL panel to meet like-minded people and expand my network of forward thinking professionals. As a panel member I have had the opportunity to take part in various different forms of advocacy. I particularly enjoy visiting local universities, sharing why I became an ACCA accountant and helping the talent of the future.

I currently work as an assistant manager at Deloitte in Nottingham, having qualified in 2019 with a local accountancy firm whom I had been with for 11 years, and I mostly deal with limited company accounts.

I have joined the panel as I would like to offer my contribution to the ACCA’s outreach to the local community and promote it as a great professional body to belong to, and accountancy as a career choice to people who would never even have thought about it to demonstrate that there are no barriers into the profession. I would also like to inspire the next generation as they will be crucial to the future of accountancy.
