Christopher McKeown FCCA - formerly in corporate controls, Blackrock
I am an experienced Accountant with a career, at the time of writing, built across Practice, Banking and Asset Management. ACCA has been a huge influence on my career, from the technical knowledge required in my role to being a key driver in obtaining International exposure in the UK, extending to Asia and Australia in 2014 and 2015 respectively. Having ACCA after my name is of huge prestige and a big pull factor in my interest in supporting the qualification further in a network capacity. Since winning the Scotland Young Accountant of the Year award in 2016, my network has increased heavily within Scotland and I have been active in building on this platform by extending networks inside/outside of work, including the Edinburgh and East of Scotland ACCA panel and Financial Services Network Panel.

Wei Wu FCCA - management accountant, Agricultural Bank of China (UK) Ltd.
Accountancy wasn’t a career she dreams about since a young age, nor did a life changing event prompt the choice. It all started out of curiosity about what it would be like to have such a highly recognised credential. She thought a lot before enrolling herself with ACCA and never looked back. Lord Sugar’s enjoyment of making “The Apprentice” is the “acorn grows into oak tree” scenario. Throughout her time studying and working, she wouldn’t have grown out of an acorn without being surrounded by people who have the vision and determination, who share similar drive and ambition, who she can draw energy from and keep her going, and who take pride in their profession being ACCA members. The mission is to bring like-minded individuals together, enhance the creditability and influence of the network, help with development of new skills and preparing ourselves and others for the acorn-to-oak tree scenario.
