HMRC has informed us that Santander is having a temporary problems with its Bill Pay service.
This will affect all Santander customers who use its services to pay their tax, either by using their credit card or debit card. The issue is seen as temporary and is currently being investigated and Santander is hoping for a resolution soon.
There are alternative methods of payment:
HMRC is urging taxpayers to continue trying to pay their tax, however if your payment is late because of the problems Santander is experiencing you will not have to pay a penalty or interest for late payment. This issue does not prevent your tax return to be submitted as usual.
