ACCA Qualification – the future: Ethics and Professional Skills module
We spoke to over 2,000 C-suite executives and professionals around the world and our new Ethics and Professional Skills module - another first - focuses on developing the complete range of ethical and professional skills that these employers told us they need. The new Ethics and Professional Skills module replaces the current Professional Ethics Module (PEM) from 31 October 2017; students whom have not completed PEM by then will be required to undertake the new module. As before, it remains one of three compulsory requirements towards ACCA membership (the others being exams and relevant experience). This new module has been designed to develop trusted and confident professional accountants, and to ultimately increase their employability. Comprising six interactive units, it covers:
- Ethics and professionalism
- Personal effectiveness
- Innovation and scepticism
- Commercial awareness, analysis, evaluation and problem solving
- Leadership and team work
- Communication and interpersonal skills.
