Apply as an independent student: before you get started

Applying to study with us can be completed in under 10 minutes, but you’ll need to have a few things ready depending on your chosen qualification, the language of your documents (they must be in English or professionally translated into English), and your age – in some countries, those under 16 or 18 will need parental consent.

All applicants

  • Valid photo ID (e.g. passport, driving licence, or birth certificate)

  • A payment card to pay the ACCA student registration fee

ACCA Qualification applicants

You'll also need evidence that you meet the minimum entry requirements:

  • Copies of all official documents, regardless of language

  • Certified English translations of any documents not in English (stamped by a licensed translator)

You can apply for exemptions during registration or later via MyACCA. In either case, you must upload evidence of eligibility. 

By submitting your qualification documents, ACCA will award the maximum exemptions available. Please note that an exemption fee is charged for each exam you are exempted from. Exemption fees must be paid within 30 days of receiving your exemption award, in line with our exemption terms and conditions.

Due to regional instability, you cannot study for or sit ACCA exams in Russia. Russian-language ACCA qualifications are available only in: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Estonia, Finland, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Ukraine, the United Arab Emirates, and Uzbekistan.

Byelaws are the rules that govern ACCA professional conduct requirements. If any matters listed in Bye-law 8 apply to you, please complete the Admission and Licensing Committee form

We work in partnership with national accountancy bodies in certain countries, so you may also need to register with a local professional body and pay additional fees.

Check the list of Joint Examination Schemes (JES) to see if this applies to you. 

If you register on or before the late entry June exam deadline in your first year, you will be invoiced the annual subscription fee as you are eligible to sit exams in the June, September, and December sessions.

After that, your annual subscription fee is due by 1 January each year to stay an active student. We send an invoice every November, which must be paid even if you don’t plan to take exams that year.
