  • ACCA partners with The Parliamentary Knowledge Foundation to support with business and accountancy awareness within Parliament

Strategic partnership to bring the ACCA’s members' knowledge from across the public and private sectors to the Parliamentary Knowledge Foundations Modular Schemes

A leading global accountancy body has agreed to partner with an innovative UK Parliament-supported initiative to bring their members’ experience into PKF’s Parliamentary Knowledge Schemes, supporting MPs understanding and awareness of the challenges and opportunities they face in their sectors.

The aim of The Foundation is to provide structured, impartial knowledge from experience through modular schemes across three initial sectors:  Frontline Services (blue light), Energy and Environment and Wellbeing and Sport. The second phase of Schemes will include Health, Industry and Infrastructure and Youth and Education.

The Parliamentary Knowledge Foundation (PKF) will use the expertise of ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) to give MPs insight into a variety of different organisations, with a core focus on how they run, finance, and manage their operations. ACCA will also be a support to the non-profit Foundation itself as it expands. Providing advisory and strategic support as the Foundation becomes more established in its mission of providing Knowledge from Experience for Members of Parliament.

ACCA and PKF signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the Houses of Parliament in November 2025 with the PKF Chair, Lord John Mann opening the meeting.

Lucia Real-Martin, Executive Director Relationships, ACCA, said: ‘We are so delighted that ACCA is to work with this fantastic scheme. ACCA will look to support PKF as a key voice representing business, the public sector, financial services, and management services as well as financial inclusion issues for individuals.

‘We look forward to providing expertise on how small enterprise to global corporations manage their challenges and we hope to provide MPs from every political party with essential context in financial management challenges and opportunities. For us this is an important way that we can amplify our members' insights across the political spectrum.’

Jamie Anderson, CEO and founder of PKF, said: ‘As a society we value our teachers, engineers, tradesmen and women, medics and accountants with the ongoing tools, experience and continual development they need to do their jobs well. It is appropriate that we do the same for our MPs.’

‘We are delighted to have partnered with ACCA. Both for the range of experience they will bring through their members directly to the Schemes as well as the support they will give us a Foundation as we continue to expand.

‘We are particularly excited to have ACCA’s broad and diverse membership base represented across the Schemes. With their global experiences from across the public, charity, and private sectors giving vital context to the realities of running organisations in different sectors and of different sizes.’
