Acting on feedback from members at our last local government summit, we are addressing the issue of good practice in IT procurement in the public sector.

This webinar will be a chance to hear from the Divisional Director of Commercial Contracts and Procurement for the London Borough of Harrow on the work of the local government national advisory group that is sponsoring the next national ICT category strategy.

Terry Brewer

Terry is the Divisional Director Commercial, Contracts and Procurement for the London Borough of Harrow. His key responsibilities are to provide the leadership and management of commercial activity and procurement in the Borough. He is currently also overseeing Commercial and Procurement for LB Brent and previously was Chief Procurement Officer for the London Borough of Camden overseeing the work of four Procurement Hubs to deliver the procurement requirements of Directorates.

He currently Chairs the London Heads of Procurement Network and sits on the London Procurement Strategy Board. He is Deputy Chair of the Local Government Association’s National Advisory Group for Procurement, Deputy Chair of the Society of Procurement Officers in Local Government (SOPO) and is the National Category Procurement lead for ICT.

Prior to this Terry was the Chief Executive of Firebuy, the Government's national procurement agency for the Fire and Rescue Service (FRS) and before joining Firebuy  was Head of Procurement at London Fire Brigade. 

Terry is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply and obtained an MBA with the Open University.
