ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) Hong Kong announced its newly elected Chairman, Vice Chairman and Committee Members for the term 2022/2023.

Winnie Ki was elected Chairman of ACCA Hong Kong for the term 2022/2023. Winnie is an Audit Partner at Ernst & Young (EY). She has more than 25 years of professional experience providing auditing and consulting services to listed companies and multinational companies, specialising in IPOs, mergers, acquisitions, corporate restructuring and financing activities in retail, consumer goods, hotel and catering industries. She is also an expert in human resources development, providing strategic advice in relevant areas to support performance management and actively training young professionals by giving speeches to universities and professional associations and serving as an experienced mentor in mentorship programs in universities.

Winnie has been a Committee Member of ACCA Hong Kong since 2016. In the past six years, she has actively participated in the work of ACCA Hong Kong. She served as the Convener of Annual Dinner / Charity Task Force, Convener of the Members’ Journal & Communication Task Force, Co-Chairman of the Student Affairs Sub-committee and a member of the Professional Development Sub-committee. ‘I am very honoured to be elected as the Chairman of ACCA Hong Kong for the term 2022/2023. In the post-epidemic time, our economy is gradually back on track. ACCA will focus on two key areas: “connecting members and enhancing development opportunities” and “nurturing our young members and investing for the future”. We will continue to strengthen our connections with stakeholders such as the Government, regulators, employers and partners, expanding the network for our members. Moreover, we will offer a wide range of professional development opportunities for ACCA members. ACCA pays great emphasis on the development of the young professionals. We have set up a new Sub-committee focusing on our young members, providing them a platform for exchanges and mutual learning, so that they could be better supported and be well-equipped to navigate future challenges,’ said Winnie.

‘Opportunities favour only the prepared mind. Digital transformation and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) are the megatrends of future market development. In the coming year, ACCA will actively support our members to embrace digitalisation and ESG data validation, preparing them to grasp emerging opportunities and provide more efficient, high quality and high-level services, adding more values to enterprises. ACCA will continue to uphold its principle of placing people at the heart of its strategy, supporting our members and future members through a wide array of resources for growth, equipping them with financial, accounting, business and digital expertise. Together, we will recreate new opportunities and rebuild a better future of our profession.’ Winnie added.

Besides, Dr Danny Po was elected Vice Chairman of ACCA Hong Kong. Danny is an International and M&A tax partner at Deloitte.
