ACCA Qualification recognition
Australia and New Zealand present unique opportunities for ACCA members, though establishing your career requires strategic planning. The market is dominated by two major accounting bodies: Chartered Accountants ANZ (ACCA's strategic partner) and CPA Australia.
- CA ANZ Partnership: ACCA members in good standing with 5+ years post-qualification experience can obtain CA ANZ membership while residing in Australia or New Zealand.
- Public Practice Requirements: Registration with the Tax Practitioners Board is mandatory for signing off accounts in public practice.

ACCA membership to become a Chartered Accountant

Exemptions for ACCA students, affiliates and members
Kaplan Professional is a leading Australian provider of qualifications in applied finance and financial planning. They form part of a global network of Kaplan businesses specialising in education and continuing education for finance professionals.
Subject credit for ACCA students, affiliates and members
As an ACCA student, affiliate or member, you are eligible to gain exemption from Kaplan Professional's core financial unit, FIN113-Techniques in Financial Analysis as long as you have completed or have been exempt from part or all of the Fundamental level (must include F7 Financial Reporting) of the ACCA Qualification.
This subject credit can be used towards any of Kaplan’s four prestigious postgraduate qualifications:
- Master of Applied Finance
- Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance
- Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance
- Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning

Are you able to help me obtain a work visa for ANZ?
As part of the Global Accounting Alliance (GAA) we have reciprocal agreements with our strategic partner CAANZ pathways, see below:
If you are applying for a full (permanent) skills assessment, you will need:- an Australian Bachelor degree or 12 unit accredited Australian Master degree; or
- an overseas qualification comparable to at least the level of an Australian Bachelor degree to have successfully completed all mandatory competency areas that are relevant to your nominated occupation to provide evidence that you have met the English language proficiency requirement.
Provisional skills assessment criteria
If you are applying for a provisional (Subclass 485 visa) skills assessment, you will need:
- an Australian Bachelor degree or 12 unit accredited Australian Master degree in accounting or relevant field;
- to have successfully completed all mandatory competency areas that are relevant to your nominated occupation to provide evidence that you have met the English language proficiency requirement.
