My ACCA sustainability hour
ACCA has launched My ACCA Sustainability Hour, a new programme for school children aged 10–16. This ambitious initiative is designed to put the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into the hands of future leaders, helping them understand their role in driving sustainable value creation.

The global challenge and the professional's role
The urgency for action is clear. The Sustainable Development Goals Report 2025 highlights that only 35% of SDG targets are on track, with nearly half moving too slowly or, worse, in reverse. Escalating conflicts, climate change, and economic downturns threaten global progress.
Empowering the next generation of accountants
The My ACCA Sustainability Hour initiative is set to benefit over 200 schools in Nigeria. Running for six months, the programme uses engaging, modular content to educate students on core SDG areas.
- Climate action
- Water management
- Waste management
- Energy management
- Poverty
- Hunger
The initiative has been positively received by policymakers. Rukaiya El-Rufai, Special Adviser to the President on National Economic Council (NEC) and Climate Change, welcomed the initiative, emphasising that teaching the SDGs in schools empowers future generations with the knowledge, skills, and values to address complex global challenges.
