ACSP registration update.

Companies House warns of technical fault affecting some applications

IP-nov-25

On 4 February 2026, Companies House issued the following to registered accountants where they are having difficulties or waiting for their ACSP registration:

‘We are writing to inform you of a technical issue that has affected the processing of some ACSP04 submissions.

The ACSP04 service allows you to amend information previously provided on a client’s verification statement (for example, correcting a misspelt name or an incorrect date of birth).

What happened

We have identified a technical issue which affected a number of ACSP04 submissions filed before the end of December 2025. These cannot be processed and may need to be resubmitted.

We realise this has caused delay for some and we sincerely apologise for this. The issue has now been fixed, and no further submissions are being affected.

What you need to do

If you have previously submitted an ACSP04 and have not received confirmation that it has been accepted or rejected, your submission may have been impacted by this issue. In these circumstances, we ask that you resubmit the ACSP04 at your earliest convenience.

When completing the new ACSP04, please use the free text field ‘Is there anything else you need to tell us about the identity checks or person’s details?’ to clearly state that this is a second submission. This will help us identify, prioritise, and process your form as quickly as possible.

If you are unsure whether you are affected

If you opted to receive a confirmation email and reference number for your original submission, and you are unsure whether it has been affected:

  • Some submissions may still be awaiting processing, particularly where multiple changes were requested, as these can take longer to review
  • You can contact us by email acsp-verification-change@companieshouse.gov.uk quoting your reference number, and we will check the status of your submission and advise whether you need to resubmit.

Urgent cases

If there is an urgent need for a client’s verification details to be amended – for example, where a filing deadline is approaching or an incorrect date of birth is preventing your client from completing verification – please email us at acsp-verification-change@companieshouse.gov.uk, quoting the reference number from your original submission. We will look to prioritise these cases wherever possible.’

Members should note that we have a dedicated section within our AML Hub that includes guidance on ACSP registration and IDV services.
