Louise Broekman is an award-winning entrepreneur, researcher, business advisor and founder of the professional body for the advisory board sector, with industry and government recognition for her contribution to the business sector.
Louise has the unique advantage of having been on both sides of the table; in the shoes of a founder and that of a chair of multiple Advisory Boards. Louise recognised first-hand how a well-run Advisory Board can positively impact CEOs and the business at large. Upon exiting her multinational business, Louise led international research and served as chair for commercial Advisory Boards. As founder of the Advisory Board Centre, Louise leads the Global Research Council and is an in-demand speaker, regularly called upon as the leading voice for Advisory Boards globally.
Udo Doring, CEO & Executive Director - Advisory Board Centre
Udo has a unique background and skillset which he applies to differentiate his work in the Advisory Board Sector. As a professional Certified Chair, he draws on his 18 years of entre/intrapreneurship experience, establishing, developing and working with professional organisations and customer-centric organisations. Udo has worked with global organisations in China, UK and Australia, scoping advisory structures with multi-nationals and government departments to reshape the existing advisory board structures using best practice methodologies.
He holds an Executive MBA from Saïd Business School at Oxford University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts from the Queensland University of Technology and a Graduate Certificate of Chinese Law from Hong Kong City and Murdoch Universities. Following an extensive relationship & engagement role with Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand (CAANZ), Penny joined the team in 2020, bringing to the network more than 25 years’ experience gained across professional roles in the UK, Europe and Australia. In her mind, relationships are the key to everything. Her networks are expansive, deep and rich and she carefully curates these as a matter of priority.
She Penny has a Graduate Diploma in Applied Corporate Governance, has proudly served as a non-executive Director with Australia's only dedicated charity for Young Women with Breast Cancer, SoBrave; and currently contributes as Executive Committee Chair for Queensland Private Enterprise Centre (QPEC).
Mark Cranny, Strategic Advisor & Global CFO - Intellective Pty Ltd
Mark works as a Strategic Advisor and Global CFO to help business owners build management capability and discipline to foster growth and scale, specialising in businesses with $1m to $30m turnover.
Mark has been involved in CFO roles since 2001 in a diverse range of industries and business, including roles at NatWest and Citibank in London. Recently Mark was the initial CFO for a Mining Exploration Company that listed on the London Stock Exchange, and has experience working on project teams in Australia, UK, USA, Japan, India, West Africa and PNG. Bernard Curran, Executive Director, BDO in Australia
Bernard works with private business owners and their families with growth aspirations and assisting them through the strategic, financial and managerial decision making journey. He has a strong track record in coaching SME and not for profit owners/executives on developing and realising growth strategies, preparing business cases, and handling mergers and acquisitions, restructures, and trade sales.
Drawing upon his extensive Company Director experience he also provides hands-on advice to Boards, Chairs of Boards, and executives.
