In locations where our on-demand CBE centres are not available due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are offering students the opportunity to sit remotely invigilated on-demand CBEs. Find out more information on how you can take these exams.
If you are based in a location where attending one of our exam centres is not possible you may now be able take remotely invigilated on-demand computer based exams (CBEs). Partnering with the British Council and ProctorU, students in selected markets can now register and schedule their exam remotely. Watch the video to find out all you need to about how to book one these exams.
Before booking it is important that you understand and complete these pre-booking steps. This is to make sure that you have the appropriate equipment, environment and connectivity speed to run the exam successfully. You should therefore check:
Read the device minimum specification requirements
Check you can run the invigilation software
Unfortunately, if you are unable to confirm both these steps then you will not be able to run the exam successfully and you should not book a remote on-demand CBE.
Finally, if you require any additional support whilst taking your exam, these need to be requested and approved before booking your exam.
You will be required to make full payment for your exam during the booking process. Exam fees for each exam can be found on our remote on-demand exam fees page.
Additionally, you will be asked to confirm that you’ve read and understood the End User Licence Agreement and our terms and conditions, as well as confirming that you'll adhere to the exam regulations which are contained within our Student Information document. We would recommend familiarising yourself with these documents ahead of booking.
Read the End User Licence Agreement

The earliest an exam can be scheduled for is 7 days from the date of booking.
In order to conduct the exams securely our partners are required to responsibly use and store student data, in addition to filming students taking their exam. This ensures we can maintain the integrity and rigour of our exams.

It is important that you select your country of residence when booking an exam. Select your country from the dropdown menu and then click the 'Book your exam' to take you to the British Council booking process.
If your location is not listed on our booking menu, unfortunately this means remote on-demand exams are not yet available to book in your area.
We use the same exam software for remote on-demand CBEs as we do for our exam centres. Therefore regardless of where students take their exam, they should use our existing exam support resources to maximise their chances of passing. Additionally, view our handy guide to see how you should correctly setup your desk environment,
We understand students may have some specific questions around the remotely invigilated exam experience. Therefore please consult our Frequently Asked Questions, which we will continue to update, for any further support.
