Congratulations – you’re now an ACCA member! So, what now?

There’s a whole host of things you can do with your new membership – here’s our top 10.

1. Work towards your ACCA Practising Certificate

If you are interested in becoming a partner or director in public practice, or dream of starting your own practice, you should start working towards your ACCA Practicing Certificate. Structuring your training will help you be more efficient and support your development. Full details are on our website.

2. Put the letters after your name on social media

Let everyone know about your achievement! Add your designatory letters to your LinkedIn profile and make sure to update your profile to reflect your new status.

3. Start your CPD

CPD isn’t just about courses, it is about taking the next step in your professional development. There are lots of resources available for free which will help you progress your career – and they’ll all count as CPD. Find more information on the CPD resource finder and your guide to CPD.

4. Join a sector-based community panel

Sector community panels are a great way to develop professional skills while also helping shape ACCA’s future. Speak to the relevant Sectors and Communities Manager, or Panel Chair, to find out about the available opportunities in your sector.

5. Become an Early Careers Ambassador

Help inspire the next generation of ACCA professionals. You can express your interest in becoming an advocate by completing this form, indicating your interest areas and letting us know what motivates you.

6. Join our social media communities

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram; whatever your preferred form of social media, there will be an ACCA community on it. Social media is a great way of engaging with your peers and keeping in touch with ACCA.

7. Tell us your story!

We love hearing your stories. How did you get to this point? What has been your journey? What makes your story special? We are always looking for members to profile. Tell us about yourself and you could be our next Accounting & Business cover star!

8. Become an approved employer for Professional Development

Does your employer provide training and support? They might be eligible to become ACCA Approved Employers. Check the website for further details. It is free to join and can help reduce administration for members, affiliates and employers.

9. Mentor a student

As a newly qualified member, you’ll be an inspiration for students. If you have a chance to mentor a student, it can be a rewarding way to keep your skills up to date, as well as increasing your management and leadership skills. It can count as CPD too!
