Europe’s largest accountancy and finance event is returning in May

original

Accountex London is back for its 11th year at ExCeL on 10-11 May. This year the show is set to be the biggest yet, with 8,000-plus accountants, in-house finance professionals and bookkeepers from all over the world coming to the free annual event. More than 250 fintech companies will be giving software demos and there will be a diverse CPD accredited education programme to explore.

Alongside the start-ups and global brands, HMRC will also be exhibiting and on hand to offer guidance following the MTD delay announcement, as well as presenting updates in the educational programme.

‘We’re really excited about the CPD accredited education programme, which is full of expert advice, actionable tips and future predictions to keep visitors updated with the world of accounting and finance,’ says Accountex portfolio director, Caroline Hobden.

Gain industry insight and up to 16 CPD hours

This year, new themes include sustainability, ESG and climate change, and how the accountancy profession can help take responsibility and communicate the right messages to their clients.

Also high on the agenda are mental health, diversity and inclusion. The event will explore how people can look after their teams and clients – and themselves – by supporting their wellbeing during the economic downturn. The programme highlights issues that affect people inside and outside the workplace, with the menopause and neurdiversity among topics in the spotlight.

Another big theme this year is the recruitment crisis, with sessions covering the wage war and why fewer young people are joining the profession.

More than 250 different sessions to explore

ACCA is delighted to be once again hosting one of the 12 dedicated theatres; look out for the release of our programme during March. Our stand will again be easy to find – opposite our theatre!

Other established theatres returning this year include Tax and Compliance, Bookkeepers and Small Business, Practice Management, and Accountants in Industry.

Accountex London also has some new additions, such as the Communication Theatre, where sessions will cover how to build and maintain relationships with good communication, and even how to work with different personality types.

The Practice Growth and Resilience Theatre will tackle issues around growth and stability in a time of recession and how accountants can advise their clients through the cost-of-living crisis.
