Accountex 2022 – what a way to return!

Accountex made a triumphant return during May after a three-year hiatus

original

This vital event brings together practitioners, providers and supporters of the practice eco-system and we were delighted to be part of it!

This year saw more than 8,000 attendees across both days as well as over 650 attendees in our own ACCA theatre. Our stand was a hive of activity with members stopping by to say hello, ask technical or regulatory questions and have their photo taken on the stand or the ACCA swing.

You can see more of the stand and the show here

We promoted our own sustainability pledges in the design and build of our stand, ensuring that everything on the stand could be recycled, repurposed, reused or had come from a carbon-neutral supplier as well as reflecting our forward-thinking brand.

In the ACCA theatre we had partners and advocates leading the debates and sessions on the issues affecting you now, such as access to and retaining talent, the changing nature of an accountant through to emerging and pressing issues such as sustainability, cyber attacks and truly digitalising your practice.

Carl Reader (chairman at d&t chartered accountants and head of accounting EMEA at Ignition) led a session with professional indemnity claims handlers, Caytons Law. They looked at the main areas where practitioners are seeing claims, how much of this can be mitigated via robust practice management systems and how we can all learn from others’ ways.

As this session was supported by Ignition, they have created a special offer for ACCA members to celebrate the return of Accountex: start your 14-day free trial to qualify for 50% off your first three months (ends 30 June 2022 and is subject to T&Cs).

We loved seeing so many of our members and partners and the buzz that comes with such an innovative and evolving sector – save the date for 2023 (10 and 11 May).

A special thank you to our fantastic advocate members who gave their time and expertise so generously:
