The third in a series of sector specific studies, this report explores the work preferences and career aspirations of the youngest professionals in large accountancy firms.

Generation Next: managing talent in large accountancy firms explores the work preferences and career aspirations of the youngest professionals in large accountancy firms such as Grant Thornton, Baker Tilly, PwC, KPMG etc.

The key findings reveal this group enjoy the opportunities that working for a large firm can bring, not least the access to quality learning and development.  However their expectations around work-life balance are not being met. 48% said their workload was too great (compared to 30% of respondents when looking across all sectors.) With a limited number of senior roles to aspire to and an appetite to try new experiences, this group view their time in a large firm as a great spring board for the rest of their career but will ultimately move on to other roles outside of the professional services sector.
