  • Coming from Ukraine?

The position with respect to Ukrainian nationals coming to Ireland, including those coming to Ireland to work or study or coming under the Temporary Protection Directive can be found at the Citizens Information website: Coming to Ireland from Ukraine.

ACCA Qualification recognition

ACCA enjoys strong membership, brand recognition, and influence in Ireland's job market. As a statutory body and a "competent authority" under EU regulations, the ACCA qualification is highly respected by employers and recognised under Irish company law.

The ACCA qualification earned in Ireland is fully recognised across the EU—including post-Brexit—and in the UK. Statutory audit licences from Ireland and the UK are mutually recognised, allowing many auditors to work seamlessly in both countries without additional exams.

Education evaluation

If you're planning to relocate to Ireland to continue or begin your ACCA studies, it's important to understand how your previous education and qualifications are recognised to help you transition smoothly into the Irish system.

  • ACCA exemptions when moving to Ireland

If you've earned ACCA exemptions in your home country—such as through a degree in India—these exemptions remain valid in Ireland when you continue your ACCA studies here.

Note: If your goal is to become a Statutory Auditor in Ireland, you may need to complete specific Irish variant exams.

  • Planning to study in Ireland?

If you're already an ACCA student, there's no need to evaluate your qualification again.

If you're not yet registered with ACCA and want to check how your qualifications compare in Ireland, use NARIC Ireland, the official body for foreign qualification recognition.

  • Do you have a list of Foreign Credential Evaluation Services?

Members and students often use foreign credential evaluation services to determine equivalency for sitting the CPA. The result varies from person to person and the service as well, but often the ACCA qualification is not found to be 150 hours on its own. We cannot comment on specific cases but the ACCA USA office has developed a guide that can help members and students interested in moving to the USA. It talks about the evaluation services and which ones are most frequently used by members in the USA.

A member suggested sending along the course syllabi for each of the exams completed. This may give the evaluator additional information on what is covered throughout the ACCA exams. They can be found here in the student community.
