Closing discussion

As part of the ESRC’s seminar series on governance, CSR and SMEs in emerging economies, a conference on the subject took place in ACCA’s London headquarters on 19 November 2014.

The event brought together key researchers and practitioners to consider the role of appropriate governance frameworks for encouraging socially responsible behaviour and commercial success among emerging and developing country SMEs.

Laura Spence

Laura J. Spence PhD is professor of business ethics and director of the Centre for Research into Sustainability at Royal Holloway, University of London. She researches and publishes on a wide range of topics relating to corporate social responsibility, and is best known for her work on small and medium-sized enterprises. She was an editor of the Journal of Business Ethics for ten years, and is a Representative-at-Large for the Social Issues in Management Division of the Academy of Management. Laura is one of the co-ordinators of the ERSC Seminar Series on Corporate Social Responsibility among SMEs from emerging and developing economies.
