The FTX Malaysia (FTX MYS) exam was withdrawn following the June 2026 exam session.
What this means for you
There was no regulatory requirement to complete the FTX MYS exam, so these changes do not impact recognition of your qualification in any way.
If you were intending on taking the FTX MYS exam, you may wish to:
- take the FTX UK exam, which is available until June 2027, or
- if you were taking FTX MYS as part of the Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) qualification requirements, you may wish to select a different combination of specialist exams i.e., Foundations in Audit (FAU) and Foundations in Financial Management (FFM), to complete the current CAT requirements.
Wider changes impacting the FTX exam
Following the June 2027 session the FTX exam, and other specialist exams (FAU and FFM), are being withdrawn as part of the changes we're making to our redesigned qualification. They will not form part of the redesigned CAT qualification and will not have equivalents under the redesign. As a result, no credit will be given for completion of these exams following transition.
If you are not interested in achieving the specialist certificates, and/or do not expect to complete the current CAT qualification prior to transition, you may wish to prioritise completing the other exams which do have equivalent elements in the redesigned CAT qualification.
Visit our transitional guidance for more information and support on the changes happening to our Foundations in Accountancy suite of qualifications, including those impacting the CAT requirements.
If you have already passed the FTX MYS exam, there is no change to the recognition of this pass.
