Wilson Cheng, the new Chairman of ACCA Hong Kong, is the Tax Leader of EY Hong Kong and Macao, with over 25 years of experience as a tax advisor. He specialises in resolving complex tax controversy cases and provides a wide spectrum of tax services to conglomerates, listed companies as well as US and European-based multinational corporations. His other tax experiences include group structure rationalisation, cross-border transaction planning, IPO review and restructuring.

Wilson has been a Committee Member of ACCA Hong Kong since 2018 (with a time off in 2023), serving as the Co-chairman of the Tax Sub-committee from 2018 to 2024 (with a time off in 2023), the Co-chairman of the Student Affairs Sub-committee from 2021 to 2022, as well as the Co-chairman of the Professional Development Sub-committee from 2023 to 2024.

Wilson said, ‘ACCA Hong Kong's achievements are built on the efforts and contributions of more than 70 past Chairmen. The new Committee and I are committed to providing our best services to ACCA members, upholding the principle of “staying true to our original aspiration and embracing innovation”. ACCA’s 75-year roots in Hong Kong inspire us not only to look back with pride but to look forward with innovations, continuously creating value for our members and contributing to society.’

Wilson added, ‘“Staying true to our original aspiration” means continuing to uphold ACCA's motto of “Think Ahead”. As a truly global professional accounting body, ACCA constantly navigates the latest trends in a rapidly changing world, providing practical support to members and offering forward-thinking insights to the industry. “Embracing innovation” means keeping pace with the times. The world is constantly transforming, and professional accounting services are facing transformative changes. As the new Chairman, I will focus on professional transformation over the coming year –driving innovative mindset, professional exchange, and qualifications recognition. In particular, ACCA is redefining accountancy by launching a redesigned qualifications framework in mid-2027 to nurture a new generation of accounting professionals who can balance finance, risk, and sustainable value.’
