ACCA and the Chamber of Accounts of Uzbekistan sign memorandum of understanding .

ACCA and the Chamber of Accounts of Uzbekistan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The MoU aims to strengthen cooperation in public sector auditing, professional capacity building and the development of the public finance and audit ecosystem.

The MoU establishes a framework for collaboration across eight key areas. These include the enhancement of public sector audit practices, support for the professional development of Chamber of Accounts’ staff through internationally recognised qualifications and learning programmes aligned with international standards, and joint initiatives aimed at strengthening transparency, accountability, and good governance.

Mekhriddin Abdullaev, Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts of Uzbekistan, said: ‘The signing of the MoU with ACCA opens up new opportunities for the Chamber of Accounts to implement international standards, develop the professional competencies of our staff, and build a modern public audit system. This is an important step in implementing the objectives set out in the Presidential Decree and in strengthening the institutional capacity of the Chamber of Accounts.’

Commenting on the signing, Zhanna Iskenova, Head of ACCA Cluster for Central Asia, Armenia, and Mongolia, said: ‘This MoU builds on our ongoing cooperation and reflects a shared commitment to strengthening public sector audit capacity in line with international standards. Through this partnership, ACCA is pleased to support the continued professional development of auditors and contribute to the strengthening of the public finance system.’

ACCA thanks the Chamber of Accounts for its trust and partnership and looks forward to implementing the MoU through practical initiatives and sustained collaboration in the period ahead.
