ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) Hong Kong signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the School of Business and Management of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST Business School) yesterday, setting out a framework for both parties to explore mutually beneficial collaboration opportunities, with the goal of enhancing the exposure and competitiveness of HKUST's undergraduate students.

The MOU was signed by Christina So, Head of ACCA Hong Kong and Greater Bay Area (GBA) Lead, and Professor Kai-Lung Hui, Acting Dean, HKUST Business School. Under the MOU, ACCA and HKUST will collaborate to integrate emerging themes – including sustainability, artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity and data analytics – into student learning programmes. Drawn from the ACCA Qualification and ACCA Learning, these cutting-edge topics will be delivered through jointly organised theme-based student enrichment programmes designed to enhance the exposure and competitiveness of HKUST's undergraduate students. Additionally, the MOU will facilitate knowledge exchange between HKUST’s academic community and ACCA’s global professional network, fostering collaboration on research, seminars and thought leadership initiatives.

Christina So, Head of ACCA Hong Kong and GBA Lead said, 'ACCA has always been committed to nurturing the next generation of professionals. This partnership with HKUST allows us to develop joint strategies and initiatives that broaden students’ exposure to emerging themes and strengthen their competitiveness in this dynamic environment.’

‘Our latest global report, Career paths reimagined, shows that accountancy is being redefined, with traditional career paths giving way to more flexible, skills-driven routes, offering greater opportunities for those ready to embrace change. Through our partnership with HKUST, we aim to equip students with the exposure, mindset and skills they need for future career success,’ Christina added.

The MOU took effect on 27 January 2026 and will remain in force for three years.
