ACCA Hong Kong convened a regional roundtable discussion in November 2025, bringing together representatives from the Hong Kong SAR Government, The British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, and the commercial, legal, and financial sectors, exploring the outlook for global trade from a Hong Kong perspective. Specifically, the various ways that Hong Kong leverages its distinct advantages to provide expertise in helping businesses navigate the complexities and capitalise on new opportunities in the evolving global trade environment.

Officially termed as strategic ‘super connector’ and ‘super value-adder’ by the Hong Kong SAR Government, roundtable participants highlighted the crucial intermediary role Hong Kong plays in offering Chinese mainland firms a bridge to the world via the city’s finance, legal and global networks, while serving international firms as a trusted gateway into the vast Chinese mainland market, including the Greater Bay Area (GBA). Amid persistent economic uncertainty stemming from global geopolitical tensions and trade tariffs, roundtable participants agreed that Hong Kong's strong fundamentals supported by a strong professional services industry enable the city to not only navigate global trade shifts, but also play a key role in creating new global trade opportunities.
