Brian Abrey, FCCA
Principal, Abrey Wealth Management

Brian is a Fellow of the ACCA (FCCA), having initially trained with Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) in 1998, before moving to RSM Robson Rhodes (now assumed within Grant Thornton) in 2001.  Areas of expertise as an Accountant and later as a Europe-wide Capital Management Specialist and a Risk Specialist over Brian’s career include Agriculture, Retail Garden Centres, Land & Estate Management, Bloodstock (Horseracing), Pharmaceuticals, Pensions, Asset Management and Insurance.  Brian has also worked for KPMG, Old Mutual plc and Genworth Financial Inc., all focusing on financial services.
 
Following qualifying with ACCA, Brian developed a love for the financial markets; how businesses are governed and how risks are identified, managed and opportunities assumed. Brian was invited to establish his own Practice and join St. James’s Place Wealth Management as an Appointed Representative and now specialises in Retirement Planning, Investment, Estate Planning, Protection (incl. Employee Benefits), Insurance Brokerage and Mortgages/Commercial Finance, to High Net Worth Individuals, Professionals, Businesses and Business Owners.
 
Abrey Wealth Management does not provide accountancy services, thus specialises in working with other like-minded Professionals, who wish to grow their businesses by providing exceptional service to their clients.

Richard Riley, FCCA
Partner, St James Wealth Management

Richard Riley is a Fellow of the Association with some forty years’ experience as a Finance Director in both large multi-national businesses and SMEs. He has been involved in the growth of start-up businesses to the eventual sale to quoted PLCs and has a consultancy working with high net worth individuals and SMEs.

He combines his work in Accounting Services with his partnership at St. James’s Place Wealth Management dealing with Financial Services covering individual and business protection, savings and investments and pensions.

This mix of skills led to the formation of a service dedicated to helping SMEs with their responsibilities under the Workplace Pensions Auto Enrolment scheme. Providing a value for money solution for an end to end process that takes the company through to their staging date and introduction of an auto enrolment compliant pension scheme.

The business is looking for strategic alliances with accounting practices that have a number of SME clients that will have to engage with the process in 2016/17 where in excess of one million businesses will have to introduce a Workplace Pension for their workforce, however small.
