June 2027 will be the last session where ACCA will offer a local variant law exam for Botswana. Following the June 2027 session, students yet to complete the law exam will have the following options:

• Choose to sit an alternative ACCA law variant exam, such as the English (LW ENG) or Global (LW GLO) exam. Both are available as on-demand exams and can be taken at one of our on-demand test centres. The vast majority of students in Botswana already choose to take the LW ENG exam variant.
• Enter for the law exam offered by the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA); students who pass this exam will be able to claim an exemption from the ACCA law exam, free of charge. Further details on how to do so will be provided following the June 2027 exam session.

If you have already passed, or intend to pass, the LW BWA exam ahead of its withdrawal please be assured that there will be no change to the recognition of your pass.
