Overview

Auditors are often exposed to difficult situations where their professional judgement is tested. This can make managing client relationships extremely difficult but there is technical guidance available and strategies that can help you deal with these situations, build solid relationships with clients and manage your audits effectively.

This course reviews relevant technical guidance and explores issues that you are likely to meet in a real-life audit situation. It gives you the knowledge and tools you need to establish and maintain strong client relationships.

It also looks at some of the more contentious areas of audit, including potential conflicts of interest and how to ensure the auditor’s report and opinion is appropriate.

This course will enable you to:

  • establish and maintain effective client relationships in line with ISA 210 and ISA 260
  • identify signs of tensions and deal with them appropriately
  • manage client relationships across all the phases of the audit in line with ISA 260 and ISA 300
  • develop strategies to deal with problem situations in line with ISA 315 and ISA 705
  • understand the issues involved in audit rotation and inheriting clients.
