This session will look at the practicalities of the R&D claims process right from that initial conversation with clients through to the submission of the final claim as part of the corporation tax return. This session will consider questions to ask at the outset which can speed up the procedure and help in managing client expectations throughout the process - the way to a successful claim and a satisfied client.

Denise Roberts FCCA

Denise is a Director at MHA Broomfield Alexander. She is an ACCA member who has advised on both corporate and personal tax matters for over 20 years and built up a wealth of experience. As a former senior tax adviser with a top 4 firm and more recently a tax partner with a top 10 national firm of accountants, Denise has extensive experience in advising entrepreneurs and businesses in all sectors and of all sizes.

Denise has also developed an in-depth specialism in R&D tax credits having previously headed up both a regional and UK team of specialists and advising UK wide businesses of all sectors. Denise is widely respected in this area and continues to advise one of the top three international aeropace manufacturers on such matters. This extensive experience means that she is well placed to advise technology companies on the financial incentives available for R&D including the new patent box.
