About this Webinar

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) recently published the consultation conclusion namely, the ‘Enhancement of Climate-related Disclosure under the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Framework’, to introduce new climate-related disclosure requirements based on standards set by the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB). The new climate requirements will come into effect on 1 January 2025, and a phased approach will be adopted for the implementation of these requirements. This pivotal move signifies a substantial advancement in driving the ESG and sustainability agenda among listed issuers, while addressing previous challenges encountered by listed issuers in assembling the necessary disclosures. It also represents an important step forward to prepare listed issuers towards ISSB-aligned climate reporting, solidifying Hong Kong's commitment to aligning with global best practices in sustainability reporting.
