What lies ahead in Wales, including non-domestic rates
The draft Welsh government Budget for 2026/27 maintains current rates for Welsh income tax and Land Transaction Tax, changes the LTT multiple dwellings relief and increases the standard rate of Landfill Disposals Tax for 2026/27.
The draft Budget maintains revenues from non-domestic rates (NDR) in real terms but does not include further funding to extend the retail, leisure and hospitality rates relief scheme. The Welsh government’s plans for NDR in 2026/27 will be determined as part of the preparations for the Final Budget, following the UK government autumn Budget on 26 November.
The final Welsh Budget will be published on 20 January 2026, with a debate and vote scheduled for 27 January.
