We are living in a digital age which provides unique opportunities but also places new demands on the accountancy profession. In 2016, ACCA developed the ‘professional quotients’ of success for the professional accountant of the future – one of which is the emotional quotient (EQ), the subject of this study.
This report Emotional quotient in a digital age examines the role of emotional intelligence in developing the accountancy profession needed for a fast evolving digital age. Expressed using the emotional quotient (EQ), the findings inform the view on both the level of EQ among accountancy respondents in our digital age, as well as the impact of digital on their need for EQ.
ACCA Hong Kong CFO Summit 2017 themed ‘Professionalism Redefined for the Digital Era – Everlasting or Everchanging?’ was successfully held on 24 November 2017. Attended by around 180 CFOs and top-notch industry leaders, the event examined the evolving professionalism through time and technological changes under the digital era.
