Coaching skills for managers: your job, your career

An important skill in any manager’s toolkit is being able to coach others

Overview

Coaching isn’t just the ‘set piece’ conversations – it’s also a way of communicating and working with others so that you can do your best work. This webinar will include a simple framework to help you bring coaching into your everyday work; we will also explore the different skills you will find useful to get you ready and confident.

But what if you want to have coaching for yourself? What if you would like some support to help you take the next step in your career? We will also cover how you can look for a mentor, what to expect from a mentoring relationship, and how to have the conversation to invite someone to step into that role for you.

Coaching works both ways: to help you increase your impact as a manager, and to help you take new steps in your career.

You will learn:

  • the difference between coaching, mentoring, training, sponsorship, therapy and counselling
  • how to have a coaching conversation
  • six key active listening skills and thoughtful questioning
  • when and when not to use a coaching style
  • coaching tips.
