Channel Islands session - Financial reporting: IFRS update

An insightful update on all the latest developments and trends in the world of IFRS

Overview

People in office

IFRSs are constantly evolving making it hard to keep on top of all the very latest developments.

2024 saw a number of amendments to existing standards as well as publication of IFRS 18 Presentation and Disclosure in the Financial Statements and IFRS 19 Subsidiaries without Public Accountability.

The IASB work plan is packed with projects, but it isn't just new and revised standards that require focus, it is the ongoing impact of economic uncertainty and climate change are felt by many businesses. In some ways, the biggest challenge facing companies is no longer applying new standards for the first time but considering out how to apply existing standards to new circumstances.

This course will provide an update on all the latest developments and trends in the world of IFRS, illustrating them with practical examples where appropriate and will also consider recent regulator feedback and areas of common challenge.

  • New and revised IFRSs applicable in 2025 and beyond
  • The impact of continued conditions of uncertainty
  • Key areas to focus on in 2025
  • The IASB’s workplan
