Why are we removing remote exams in countries which have centre provision?
As technology evolves, we have concerns around the ongoing security of remote exams. We want to protect the hard work ACCA students put into earning their qualification and guard against anything that could compromise the integrity of our exams. Reducing the volume of remotely-invigilated exams helps us ensure exam integrity.
This means that:
- For on-demand exams, students will no longer be able to purchase tokens for remotely invigilated exams from 4 November, except in countries where we have no exam centre provision.
 - For session-based exams, all ACCA exams will be held in centres from March 2026, except in countries where we have no exam centre provision.

These changes will allow us to continue to protect the rigour and integrity of our qualifications.
Does this change impact all of ACCA's qualifications?
This change will impact all ACCA-delivered qualifications apart from the Professional Diploma in Sustainability which will continue to be available as a remotely invigilated exam in all countries.
Which students can still enter for a remote exam?
Only students taking exams in countries where we have no exam centre provision will continue be able to enter for remotely invigilated exams. For guidance on what exams are offered in each country location, visit our Exam availability and booking page
Whilst the vast majority of students already choose to take their exams in centre, we do understand that some students prefer to take their exam at home. We appreciate that this news will therefore come as a disappointment to some students. However, as technology evolves, this decision is necessary to protect the integrity of the ACCA Qualification and to ensure it remains trusted and the number one global choice for employers.
How can students find out if centre or remote exams are offered in their country?
In the vast majority of countries we have exam centre provision, meaning that students will take their exams at an exam centre.
For specific country queries, students can use our Exam availability and booking page for confirmation on which exam delivery format is offered in their country.
Why do some countries have the option of entering for remote exams and some don’t?
With a vast global network exam centres in more than 90 countries, we're delighted to provide the vast majority of students with the opportunity to take their exams in centre.
We're also committed to providing open access to the ACCA Qualification to all students, even if it is not feasible to offer an exam centre in a student's country location. In these instances, we offer remote exams so that students everywhere can achieve a qualification that’s cutting-edge, trusted, and remains the global first choice.
Does this change apply to both on-demand and session exams?
Yes. The vast majority of students will take both their on-demand and session exams in centre.
In a small number of countries exam centre provision may be different for on-demand and session exams. Use our Exam availability and booking page for confirmation on what exam delivery format is offered in your country for both on-demand and session exams.
Will all students still be able to use remote on-demand exam tokens already purchased?
Yes. Students in countries which offer no exam centre provision will no longer be able to purchase remote on-demand tokens from 4 November 2025. However, all students who have already purchased tokens, regardless of their location, can use these tokens up until their existing expiration date.
Will we bring back remote exam availability in my country at some point in the future?
For the foreseeable future, we will only offer remote exams in countries which have no centre provision.
How will we ensure the integrity of remote exams going forward?
Protecting the rigour of the ACCA Qualification will always be our number one priority. We use a wide range of checks, processes and security measures to ensure the integrity of our remote exams is maintained. These robust processes are frequently reviewed.
What will happen if a student attempts to take a remote exam in a different country from the one they selected when booking?
The exam result will be nullified and no refund will be issued.
Will students with additional support needs be able to take a remote exam instead?
ACCA is committed to ensuring that no student is disadvantaged in their examinations because of any special educational need, disability or temporary injury. We will be able to support students with additional accommodations within our exam centres.
