When you become an ACCA member, you can proudly display the ACCA letters after your name.

let's walk through how to apply for direct membership, step by step.

Select joining ACCA then joining ACCA from another accountancy body,
[01:11]
and select the relevant body from the list. Confirm you meet the requirements and select to start your membership application.

If you already have an account with us, please sign in. If you don't have a login, create an account to continue.

Take a moment to review the information on screen. If you're eligible to apply for direct membership,

select continue application.

Take a moment to make sure your personal details are up to date. If you need to make any changes,
[01:50]
simply raise a case with us.
[01:53]
You can also update your contact details here if needed. If your application is accepted,

your membership certificate will be sent to your primary address.

You can also add a secondary address, which can be included on your invoice and receipt if needed.

Then choose save and continue to proceed.

If you have been provided with a registration code, you can add this here, select save and continue to move on.

Complete the details of your professional accountancy body, including the name, by selecting from the available drop down list.

And whether you are ACCA staff or have been recommended by the ACCA council.

Select save and continue to move on. You should now complete details regarding public practise.

Once you've answered the questions accurately, select save and continue to move on.

You should now upload your supporting documents. If any of your documents are not in English,
[03:17]
an official translation must also be provided. This includes an official form of identification,
[03:23]
such as a driving licence or passport. You'll also need to provide a letter of good standing from the institute you're a member of,
[03:31]
confirming that you are in good standing and stating your date of admission to membership.
[03:37]
There is also an additional section where you can upload any other documents you feel are relevant.

Once you've uploaded your documents, select save and continue to proceed.

Take a moment to review how you'd like to receive correspondence and communications from us.

You can also choose whether you'd like to receive information from selected third party organisations.

Next, confirm how your details should appear in the directory of members, either partially or in full,
[04:11]
and whether you'd like to appear on our list of past finalists.

Once you're ready, select save and continue to proceed.

Before submitting your application, you must review the terms and conditions in full, particularly the bylaws and the membership declaration,
[04:29]
which outline the professional obligations and conduct expected of ACCA members.

When you have reviewed each section, select I accept.
[04:48]
Take a moment to read the general privacy statement, then select I accept.
[04:55]
Then click save and continue to move on to the next stage of the application. Lastly,
[05:01]
review the information you've provided.
[05:09]
And when you're happy to proceed, select submit.
[05:14]
You'll then be taken to the order summary, which will show your membership admission fee. At this stage,
[05:21]
you can also choose to make a donation to the benevolent fund before completing your payment.
[05:28]
When you're ready, select pay now. This is the payment screen where you can pay your application fee using a debit or credit card,
[05:36]
PayPal or Alipay. Enter your payment details and then select pay to complete the transaction.

Please note that paying the admission fee doesn't automatically confirm your admission to membership.

Your application will undergo a final review, and if anything further is needed, we'll contact you directly.

Your application for direct membership has now been submitted, and we aim to respond within 5 days.

You can check the status of your application at any time in your My ACCA portal.
