Overview:

Making Tax Digital for Income Tax is moving from concept to reality. With mandatory adoption beginning in April 2026, accountants now need more than an understanding of the rules — they need a practical plan. This course provides a structured overview of the MTD for Income Tax regime, before moving quickly into the real-world implications for accounting practices and their clients. Attendees will gain clarity on who is affected, what HMRC expects, and how quarterly reporting will work in practice.

Delegates will leave with

  • A clear understanding of the MTD for Income Tax requirements
  • Clarity on which clients are affected and the practical implications (i.e. software choices) for different client types
  • Practical examples of how MTD will impact workflows, systems, and workload
  • Guidance on steps that can and should be taken now to prepare clients and practices for April 2026

Overview:

The topics to be covered within this presentation will include:

  • Property transactions for UK individuals – A refresher
  • Individuals renting out UK residential property
  • The impact of capital gains tax
  • The incorporation of a rental property portfolio
  • Landlords tax refresher and planning
  • Stamp Duty Land Tax update and planning
  • Case studies
  • General overview

What you will gain:

Delegates will receive a very practical property transactions update, covering all the recent changes, and also discover the new tax planning opportunities available.

The course will be assisted by practical case studies throughout.

Overview:

Think you know VAT inside out? Think again. This session is all about the traps, quirks, and hidden pitfalls that may trip up even experienced accountants and bookkeepers.

  • VAT error recognition and correction, including timing errors, incorrect VAT rates, mis-treatment of exempt and zero-rated supplies

  • VAT on imports and cross-border transactions and common compliance mistakes
  • Applying reverse charge VAT correctly, including common pitfalls and practical examples

Overview:

As AI transforms the workplace, accountants need to understand the skills and behaviours that will (and won’t) add value to their clients in the future. This course gives delegates a clear understanding of how the accountancy profession is changing and recommends practical tools to nurture their long-term careers.

* Identify emerging opportunities in accountancy and the skills needed to take advantage of them.

* Assess the need for accountants to provide independent assurance over AI-driven decision-making.

* Develop a practical roadmap for building a future-ready career in a world of automation and AI.

The webinar handout material will be available on the webinar platform when you log in to view the session.

If you wish to view or download handout materials, before starting the webinar, they will also be available through your document library on https://events.accaglobal.com
