Overview

The presentation will demonstrate the issues and the unique partnership arrangement and funding sources that contributed to this important coastal flood protection asset.  The presentation will include a three-minute drone video footage along the entire 5.8km project area during construction, together with some still photographs. Peter Bateson BA, FCCA, MBA, CEO at Witham Fourth District Internal Drainage Board and former Public Sector network panel member 

Peter is a qualified accountant and spent 15 years with Deloitte before taking on several Finance Director roles for professional services firms and was awarded an MBA by Nottingham Law School in 2009.  For the last 10 years he has been CEO for a Public Authority that manages flood risk in Lincolnshire with full finance and governance responsibility and manages 30 staff.  

He is also Company Secretary for the national Association of Drainage Authorities and sits as a Board member on Smaller Authorities Audit Appointment Ltd, the body that replaced the Audit Commission and appoints auditors for all Parish Councils in England.

Previously Peter was a Trustee for Home-Start Nottingham for 7 years and maintains links with this charity.  For the last 5 years he has volunteered as a Young Enterprise Business Advisor encouraging secondary school students to set up businesses at school. 

In his spare time Peter plays golf and sings/plays the guitar in local pubs.
