What you are purchasing

You are certifying that your existing membership of a professional body meets the exemption standards as defined by the EAAA under the UAE Fellowhip Programme.

You will receive a certificate that confirms you have purchased the credit exemption. However it will be for the EAAA to validate your eligibility if required.

You are deemed to have sufficient knowledge in this area for the exemption. However the learning that you would normally undertake is presented here for you to refer to.

This learning offers a broad introduction to the field of International Financial Reporting and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). It traces the history of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) from its early roots through to recent changes and updates and future developments. Covering the same learning topics as the ACCA certificate, the assessment and awarding crtieria have been adapted for the UAE Fellowship Programme.

In reviewing the learning you will:

  • understand how International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) are used around the world
  • explain how the International Financial Reporting Standards Foundation (IFRSF) / International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) work and how these are being changed
  • examine the fundamental requirements of IFRS on a standard-by-standard basis
  • provide guidance on how to use IFRS in practice.

This exemption/certificate is one of three, that are an integral part of the UAE Fellowship Programme. If you are studying this material for other purposes or outside the UAE, please see our global edition of the Cert IFR.

Our e-learning course is an introduction to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Nationally qualified accountants and auditors can now update their skills to meet the challenges involved in adopting and implementing IFRS in their workplace. An educational or vocational background in financial reporting is recommended before starting the Cert IFR.

This course also benefits accountants who gained their qualification prior to the introduction of IFRS. For those whose qualifications are already based on IFRS, the Cert IFR is an opportunity to update their IFRS knowledge for recent IASB publications.
