The webinar will explain the underlying principles and practical considerations of new changes affecting the Statement of Profit or Loss in IFRS 18 Presentation and Disclosure in Financial Statements

IFRS 18 was issued by the IASB in April 2024 and replaces IAS 1 Presentation of Financial Statements. The module will explain the key principles of IFRS 18 and its impact on the presentation of the Statement of Profit or Loss and its new approach to disclosures of management-defined performance measures.

Practical implementation issues will be discussed during the seminar. In addition, the webinar will also provide an overview of the rationale, eligibility criteria and primary decision to be made relating to the election of IFRS 19 Subsidiaries Without Public Accountability: Disclosures which was issued by the IASB in May 2024.

Dr Pearl Tan FCCA

Dr Pearl Tan has extensive experience in teaching and developing courses on advanced topics in financial accounting. Dr Tan had won a number of teaching awards in SMU and Nanyang Technological University (NTU). Dr Tan has an active interest in the IFRS and provides feedback to policy-making bodies. She has co-authored two books on IFRS that are used by a number of Asian universities. Dr Tan served on the inaugural Learning and Assessment Committee of the Singapore Qualification Programme and was a member of the Advisory Committee for Accounting Standards for Statutory Boards, and the Financial Reporting Committee of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA). She was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Bronze) in 2015.
