Jason Piper, Head of Tax and Business Law, ACCA
Jason Piper is ACCA’s Policy Lead for Tax and Business Law. He directs ACCA’s policy work on the closely related fields of tax and business law, considering Jason is Head of Tax and Business Law in the Policy & Insights team at ACCA, the global body for professional accountants, leading policy work on the two closely related fields. His research covers all aspects of business form and their regulation, how they interact with tax systems and the wider economic and social environment. Recent areas of focus have included the influence of technological change on the regulatory and economic environments for entrepreneurs and criminals and the importance of public trust in the tax system. Jason represents ACCA on tax, business law and economic crime issues at UK, regional and international level. Both the direct impacts of developments in each field and the wider implications for business and society as a whole.

Ann Barnshaw Kengaaju is a lawyer and international tax and transfer pricing advisor based in Uganda with over five years of experience advising businesses on tax compliance, audits, transfer pricing, and strategic tax matters. She has worked with clients across multiple sectors, including energy, construction, agriculture, insurance, healthcare, hospitality, transport, and not-for-profit. Ann advises businesses on managing tax risk in an era of enhanced data transparency and cross border cooperation between tax authorities, helping clients align their tax positions with global reporting and audit expectations. She brings a practical perspective on how tax authorities use data and analytics to assess risk and enforce compliance.
