Every year, the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has a meeting with the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) to exchange views and clarify technical issues, as well as practical issues. The minutes of the 2024 annual meeting have been released. This webinar will provide a detailed overview of the key discussions and clarifications that emerged from the meeting, covering a wide range of important tax topics.

Doris Chik, Tax Partner, Deloitte China

Doris Chik is a tax partner of Deloitte's National Tax Technical Centre in Hong Kong. She has about 25 years of professional experience in tax services. Her broad professional experience is gained from the provision of corporate tax services, international tax services, tax technical research and analysis, as well as overseas working experience in Deloitte US. She specializes in Hong Kong and international tax planning. She has extensive experience in regional tax planning, cross-border transactions, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, initial public offerings, etc. Doris has served many multinational clients, especially in the manufacturing, consumer market, shipping and funds industries. In her current role, she focuses on tax technical research and analysis, Hong Kong tax policy consultation, article writing and internal training. She is a frequent speaker in tax seminars, as well as a writer of various tax technical articles and publications.

Carmen Cheung, Senior Tax Manager, Deloitte China

Carmen Cheung is a senior tax manager at Deloitte's National Tax Technical Centre in Hong Kong. With over 17 years of professional experience in tax services, Carmen has developed a comprehensive understanding of corporate and international tax matters. She has extensive experience in tax compliance and advisory services, including Hong Kong and international tax planning, cross-border transactions, and corporate restructuring. Carmen has served clients across a wide range of industries, providing tailored tax solutions to meet their specific needs. In her current role, Carmen focuses on conducting in-depth tax technical research, contributing to Hong Kong tax policy consultations, and authoring tax technical articles. Additionally, she is actively involved in internal training programs.

  • The series is under ACCA’s Subsidy CPD Scheme.
