Studying for an additional qualification is an ideal CPD activity if it’s relevant to your role or your future career aspirations. Both part and full-time study can count towards your CPD, and both online and face-to-face learning will count. Please note that only time spent attending lectures, carrying out research and in self-study can count as CPD - time spent taking an examination will not count.

Remember to keep evidence of your studies in case you are selected for a CPD review.

Depending on the number of hours of study you completed, you may have exceeded the CPD requirement. If you complete more than 21 verifiable units in any year, you can carry forward up to 21 of these additional units to your next CPD year. You must have exceeded the minimum requirement of 40 CPD units overall. Unfortunately, non-verifiable units can’t be carried forward.

Once you’re satisfied you’ve met the requirement you can complete your CPD declaration via myACCA, selecting the ‘Unit route.
