However if your subscription isn’t paid in full each year or your CPD requirement isn’t met, you will be removed from our register, in line with our membership regulations. This means that you’d no longer have the right to use the ACCA or FCCA letters after your name.

How to reinstate your membership

If you are removed from the register, you can apply to return to it. Please see below for information on what you’ll need to do to reinstate.

You can download a reinstatement form from the ‘General forms’ dropdown menu from the Administration forms webpage. To speed things along, please return your completed reinstatement form, along with any supporting documentation it asks for.

Payment for reinstatement can be made by calling ACCA Connect on +44 (0)141 582 2000 or making a transfer from your bank straight to ours. Please see our how to pay page for further details.

  • Removal for non-payment of subscription fees

    If you were removed from the register for non-payment of subscription fees, you will need to pay:

    • the current year’s subscription,
    • a reinstatement fee,
    • any unpaid sums owed at the time of removal.

    Please note you’re no longer required to pay back fees for any additional years you were off the register.* (conditions apply)

    Members must also complete the CPD declaration section of the reinstatement form.

     

    *If you have been removed from the register on previous occasions, you will be required to pay fees for the additional years you were off the register. Back fees are only waived for members who are removed from the register for the first time and will not apply should you be removed from the register in the future and apply for reinstatement.

  • Removal for CPD non-compliance

    Members removed for non-compliance with CPD obligations must complete the CPD declaration section of the reinstatement form. If you were removed for non-compliance with the CPD evidence review process you will need to submit the outstanding CPD evidence records along with the reinstatement form.

  • Previous resignation from the register

    If you resigned from the register, you will need to pay:

    • the current year’s subscription,
    • a reinstatement fee,
    • any unpaid sums owed at the time of removal.

    Please note you’re no longer required to pay back fees for any additional years you were off the register.

    Members must also complete the CPD declaration section of the reinstatement form.

  • Removal after disciplinary or bankruptcy

    If you were removed from the register due to disciplinary reasons you must wait at least 12 months from the effective date of the disciplinary order before applying for reinstatement.

    If you were removed because of a disciplinary or due to bankruptcy you will need to pay:

    • the current year’s subscription,
    • a reinstatement fee,
    • any unpaid sums owed at the time of removal.

    You may also be asked to supply additional information such as a character references, a conduct report prepared by an approved practitioner or may be required to pass further examinations / tests. If so, you may also have additional fees to pay. We’ll contact you to confirm the exact requirements once you have submitted the reinstatement form.

  • Members in public practice

    If you’re applying to return to the register and are in public practice (full-time or spare-time) you may need to supply additional information with the reinstatement form.

    If you’re the principal of a firm in a designated territory or in a country of jurisdiction that, according to local legislative and/or regulatory requirements, requires an ACCA practising certificate, must submit an application for a practising certificate with the reinstatement form.

    For those in countries where an ACCA practising certificate is not required, you must notify us and confirm that you’ve complied with any local legislative and/or regulatory requirements to be eligible to carry on public practice.
