From early on, ACCA framed accounting in the context of the wider business, from strategy and risk to governance and decision-making. It taught me to think beyond the numbers and see the whole business.
That mindset gave me the confidence to take on broader responsibility and, ultimately, move beyond pure finance into a COO role, where I now help manage a several-billion-pound portfolio.
The FCCA credential continues to give me credibility at senior level, whether I’m compiling board materials or helping to set direction across a commercial function.
And as my role has evolved from finance into operational leadership, my membership keeps me connected to current thinking on strategy, governance and technology.
For me, ACCA has stayed relevant at every step. It gave me the commercial and strategic depth to lead a business, not just report on it.
